"Times Of Grace/Grace:

"To get the full experience from listening to this album, make you sure you have 17 sound sources (you'll need 17 1st gen playstations for this) mounted in an pseudo quasi omni-directional x-y-z-Ω axis inside of a double dodecahedron, preferably painted aubergine or chartreuse. The moon should be waning, and Mars should be in the house of Aquarius. It is recommended that you wear wool socks on a wood floor, or wood socks on a wool floor. Burn seven crow beaks in a fire pit that is rimmed with obsidian scrying mirrors, and enter the konami code on all seventeen playstations at once (you may need a friend to help you with this). Once you have the easy parameters set up, prepare for the ULTIMATE LISTENING EXPERIENCE." "

Bless the lucky ones who have the resources and which commit to that ..and actually succeed, haha.

Listening to this again and it's clear they were inspired by the works of Chevelle. Tool never had songs in this tone and vocal style that were actually this good

I can't say there's nothing memorable about it. Even if you dislike it, it's still remembered as a bad APC album. I think it's more misunderstood than anything. Although indulgent and vague, A Perfect Circle were creative and daring enough to offer more than just their usual alt/industrial blend.

This band's discography hasn't aged too well, honestly.

I still like the first two records quite a bit.

They're not bad by any means but they fail to stand out much when compared to a lot of other rock/metal material in the early '00s.

Anything on the first album is better than anything on this.

It's easy to say any of their early material is better than this. I think their music has aged well.

Think I am gonna bump this though, some songs are really growing and me like The Doomed or Disillusioned. Talk Talk still my favourite and I still have to warm up to 2nd half. I don't feel it just yet.

The Hollowed is damn good but in the grand scheme of things that’s a bit of an exaggeration haha

This album needs blast beats and blistering guitar solos.

I completely disagree. I think the first album especially has aged amazingly. It's still pretty unique and sounds amazing. 2nd album not as much, although it's still a good album.

Thirteenth Step is a completely different animal than Mer de Noms. It's aged well in my opinion.
