We Look Like Lightning too, to an extent. It's weird that this feels so much more mature than their past work but either their bag of tricks is running empty, or the production really is bad enough to sink this. My 4 feels a little high

You'll definitely dig a good chunk even if you don't like the whole thing

lol so spotify rewind is out again for the year and I'm shocked TWY were my most listened to band ...
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
I listened to this a ton because I literally couldn't figure out how I felt about it. There were times when I thought it was a 4.5, some times I thought it was a 3. I've settled on my 4 but my gut reaction is more "this is a well-executed album" and less "this grabbed me by the heartstrings" as Suburbia/TGG/the best parts of NCTH did

idk this one grabbed me harder than like anything else of theirs and a lot of twy fans i know were not on board with this thing so basically ive had most people tellin me im wrong about that lol

probably edges NCTH but doesn't touch TGG

Album Rating: 3.5
Doesn’t touch any of their other albums Upsides onwards for me

Album Rating: 3.5
I can agree with that. It's NCTH > TGG > Suburbia >this > Upsides for me.
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
The correct ranking:
TGG > Surburbia > NCTH > this > Upsides
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
If you flip this and upsides on your ranking ButtBoy I agree

but then again, I am a total fanboy for these dudes.

I feel like I have outgrown these guys. Greatest Generation was the last album that did it for me and even then I feel like the lyrics are a bit early 20's existential crisis.
My life is actually worse now than when they would have resonated with me, odd

Maybe the fact that I’m in my early 20s is why I dig suburbia and tgg so hard. But yeah last two definitely haven’t hit the same spot for me

Wanted to like these guys for so long. This album finally did it for me. In my top 10 for the year.
No love for 'we look like lightening'? Definitely one of my favourites on the record.
