Fear Fun is great and a more conventionally enjoyable album but at this point I consider this one superior.

This album becomes such a snooze fest for me from Birdie thru the rest. Too many 6+ minute tracks

instrumentals don't justify the lengths and the lyrics sure as hell don't either

What do you mean? They didn't give it Best New Music but 7.6 is still a very strong score. I mean 7.6 corresponds to 3.8 which is about what I would give it myself.
|
| |
centipede hz's 7.4 was considered a pan, 7.6 after an 8.8 def indicates that it was underwhelming on some level
7.6 isn't a "very strong score"

Centipede Hz is awesome
|
| |
ok but why are we giving a single fuck about what pitchfork or any music reviews site rated something?
and centipede hz is indeed awesome
|
| |
why on earth are we discussing critical reception on a music site
|
| |
nah lucid don't be shallow, i'm not taking that shit; you're using the score from one music website to invalidate other review scores and establish that they are pretending- that's pretty stupid and not worth discussing or bringing up as an argument.

Centipede Hz fucking blows, dudes

it's a fair point though, considering pitchfork are a) one of if not the most established reviewed site online and b) considering the huge amounts of acclaim they have previously given this guy it's a noticeable difference that they've given it a rather muted reception. it's like when your favourite artists releases a average or underwhelming album, you're still a fan so you feel kinda obliged to give it a decent score even if you think that it's weaker, or at least you make much more of an effort to enjoy it than if another artist doing it. if this was some unknown artist pitchfork would have probably given it a 6.5 max
|
| |
nah a 6.6 i reckon
|
| |
woah dude don't get too crazy, have you been at the wacky tobaccy?
