for your experience do you find the instrumentals to often take a back seat to the lyrical content and themes?

Honestly, no. I hear so many people say the album borders on not being music all the time, and that there's no focus on it.

But I really...do not understand that. This album has some of my favourite Mount Eerie melodies on it (notably to most musically intensive tracks: Ravens, Soria Moria), but overall the album still has the exact kind of ambient-folk feel I've always loved about Phil's work. I think it's more that, now because his vocals are such a significant focal point, the music seems less important or interesting. Phil has always sung, but he's always also focused on creating lush and experimental musical sections to flow with that. On this, because his voice isn't really there to fit with the music and is there to recite poetry over the music, there's a certain disconnect and the music feels less important or interesting. But, personally, the music is beautiful and some of the best he's made - which makes it hard for me to listen to because I don't want it to lose its emotional value over constant replays, despite wanting to just hear it.

"Am I a emotionless monster if this didn't make me feel all that much of anything"

I hardly thought anything of this innocuous comment. The fact that it sparked such a strong reaction is baffling to me. Snox is being overly sensitive.

You are cold-hearted. All I want is to make amends. We could become good friends. Like me and Adolf.
