Agreed. But you gave this a 4.5. How?

I know you're probably gonna say I'm smoking crack for saying this, buuuut...

You're smoking crack for saying that. For real. M/m has a few tracks that are utterly fantastic but the rest of it is playing it waaaay too safe for Thrice standards.

^agreed hard. This is also a pretty safe album, but it has more kick than M/M in my opinion. Also, Beggars is head and shoulders above either.

M/M has more punch and interesting songwriting than this, which goes a lot farther into hard/alt. rock than they ever had before. Still I love about half the songs on here, probably the lowest 4 I have.

going out after releasing major/minor wouldn't be going out on top though

If that's the case, they would have quit with Vheissu or the Alchemy Index and that would have been a shame.

This is cool, but I think I will be more interested in hearing what they will try next.

Are they back for a while, or was this just kind of a one-off reunion album?

I dig this album quite a bit still. Not my favorite from them, but I think it's far better than some people make it out to be.

If they quit with Water that'd be one hell of a mark to go out on

Water was my first Thrice experience. My buddy put it on while we were watching a meteor shower in the mountains and damn it was some kind of magical.

'going out after releasing major/minor wouldn't be going out on top though'

At least that album was pretty good. A nice culmination of their newer sound. I'll concede they wouldn't have been going out on top. I chose the wrong words there.
