"There is such a gulf between absolutely incredible and so so bad all over this album, sometimes even in the same song. Shame"

Suppose Im one of the lucky ones that doesn't find any part of this album absolutely "skippable."

I'm even on board with the change in pace of Baby Blue.

I don't skip any and I don't haaaate Baby Blue, but that whammy solo is lame. And while I love Gifts for the Earth, I still don't think it fits on this. If they'd swapped that for From the Kettle Onto the Coil and it was just an Adult Swim single This would have been a bit more cohesive.

The first few minutes of dream pop in Baby Blue and wah-wah solo are by far the best sections of the whole song.

Gifts of the Earth is great but they could've had a more transcending way to end the album. They also needed to omit the metal chugging on here, and make the songwriting flow better, like on Sunbather. Accomplishing that and including Kettle would've made this the best thing ever.

I kinda dig the chugs, but can totally see why someone wouldn't. It's telling that I have so many complaints about the album and still gave it a 4. Some of this really gets my heart pumping.

Yeah I still love this, most of what I said is what I hope for the future. If all of that really bothered me I woulda had a lower rating.

The melodic sections of Luna and the 3:00 mark (blastbeat section, I think? I can't verify at the moment) are just knock-out good. Album flows from chaotic to serene quite wonderfully.

Hello, fellow users.

I just got this on vinyl from an eBay seller and there was a download card in the sleeve. I can't say for certain that it hasn't been used, but I already have a copy so if anyone wants to try it... first come, first served.

haven't listened in a few months but from memory it was just consistently lackluster, with a few highlights that can't hold a candle to sunbather or even roads to Judah

Come Back is awesome. I don't have any complaints on that track. They got that one right. Gets sinister for a minute after these lines:

Laced with a bitter face

near the dawning of the high

and the madness of the undertow.

Also, its ending is as purrty as anything from Sunbather or Roads to Judah, imo.
