I have a hard time calling this or the new album awful when there are plenty of bands putting out way more awful and cringey shit. I understand the dislike and they'll never be the band they used to be, but they still get my love until they start emulating Brokencyde or something.

I think In Flames is still way better than all of the bands they tour with now
Like they're pretty much straight alt-metal now but I still think they sound pretty unique between Anders' vocals (love them or hate them) and the guitar harmonies that are still fairly frequent if not the focal point anymore. And Anders sounds much better on Battles than on Siren Charms and even SOAPF.

I probably wouldn't like this and Battles as much if they didn't have a similar atmosphere to their past few records. All of their stuff gives off a certain vibe that I myself don't think they've ever lost, can't really explain it but I'm still a fan.
