After ignoring AIC 2.0 for too long, I finally gave Black Gives Way a chance, and that album grew on me fast. It's a genuinely great album. So, wondering if the 2.0 iteration can do a 2nd great album... and then, no, not really. Maybe I need to give it more time, but after two listens I just can't find anything very memorable, really. I'll keep trying, I guess. But... disappointing.

this one has some really high highs for me but a lot of it is mid to good AiC too
t/t, phantom limb and hung on a hook are my favorites

Title track is full stop for sure one of my favorite songs they’ve ever made. It’s got such an intense atmosphere that just builds and builds. Shows you don’t have to be balls to the wall heavy to sound menacing as fuck.

Agreeed, love the t/, definitely the best song on here. The video adds to the eerie and menacing quality

Breath On A Window is one of my favorite AIC songs. The final 2 minutes of that song is absolute bliss. I can't believe that that song never took off for them.

Sludgy, dreary masterpiece right here ... AIC 2.0 is damn good in it's own right

Ya they did everything right when it comes to “band revivals”. Got a new singer that, while incredible, doesn’t try to replicate the original one, didn’t change their sound too radically, and clearly still respect the old material while not being afraid to continue to make your mark with new music.
One of the best bands ever tbh, and their perseverance is inspiring

Well put! I think Jerry really deserves a lot of props, he really seems to be the glue keeping it all together

Absolutely and always has been imo. I mean, his solo records are almost as good as AIC for me. Dude is a fuckin riff machine and an incredible songwriter

^ Same here, even when I haven't listened to the song in months. It just... kinda reappears at random, lol

Absolutely, we want as many Hung on a Hook- like songs on a future AiC, classic stuff
also if we get another AiC, PLEASE let DuVall finally be the LEAD vocal on 80% of the songs as he absolutely should be.
love Jerry, but that song's living proof he should be the one. DuVall's voice is perfect for them and he has much better range than Jerry

Whatever they did on black gives way to blue they need to do again. (Lots more Duvall vocals for one)
