As a big Projector fan this album fell totally flat for me; I comfortably consider it their nadir. It's great in theory, and there are some good ideas here and there, but the actual result is monotonous and sterile.

Must admit I haven't followed DT for their whole career. Although I loved Character when it came out I didn't go back or forward with them for whatever reason. Until Moment which I dug heavily. Now just going on a discog walk, this band is so consistent. Not a fan of their work pre-Character but all albums after are spot on

That trio in the middle of their discog (Damage Done to Fiction) all have a fair bit in common, I'm surprised you don't enjoy DD that much. Has some of their classic songs on it.

Character and Fiction were done in the same studio with the same lineup so they're pretty similar sounding. DD doesn't quite hit, but as we know it can even after a few tries.
