The spoken word samples are all from either the film Antichrist or the British tv series Skins. My personal favorite sample is the one from The Woods, I've used that sample in various songs I've made over the years

Haven't really seen the movie, not too familiar with that TV show either (I think I might've seen some episodes while doing something else) but that voice did sound kinda British/a little bit familiar.

His new film follows the main female characters journey through nymphomania. I read an interview with Shia Labeouf who is
also in the film and Lars got him to film a live real sex scene for the movie. He went on to say that Lars was the only director
who ever made him scared to go to work and he loved that. I can't even imagine what goes on inside Lars' head

Most people have fucked up thoughts, it's just most people are too afraid to let them out

He can be as much of a creative nutjob as he wants to be, I've never found his movies to be that enticing. Melancholia actually made me laugh at parts.

"Most people have fucked up thoughts, it's just most people are too afraid to let them out"

Relatively, there is average crazy and there is crazy crazy. And then there's thoughts and actions.

What didn't you like about that film?

Sounds like Sleeping Beauty, except minus the harmlessness. Probably with the same ridiculous attitude though.

What I didn't like about that movie? If you really want to know (and yes, I'm nitpicky)

1. I know movies aren't supposed to be realistic but the scientific forays are completely ridiculous and over the top. (one of the things that made me laugh)

2. I generally don't really care for Kirsten Dunst but her sister was also kind of annoying. which leads me to

3. That whole family was kinda annoying me with the exception of the father (?) who always walked around like he didn't want people to look into his face which was quite hilarious.

4. The concept is way too over the top for me. If I want to delve into such 'deep' forays I'd like it done less cluttery without a weird pot of mashup metaphors. which leads me to

5. It didn't have the desired or any emotional impact on me at all, there were some amusing parst and partly some hilarious parts due to how ridiculous some stuff was but in general it just dragged on for me.

Andcas after seeing the opening scene to Antichrist how could you think it's going to be anything less than amazing, so well shot. The whole thing is its not just porn, it's the story of a young woman's descent into nymphomania, there's going to be a self destructive feel to the whole thing

I'm going to bet my Teufel sound system on the fact that nymphomania will be depicted incorrectly in that movie. And it doesn't sound like a good premise to start with. And quite frankly, a movie could be full with the most beautiful imagery/shots and would still think it's crap if the rest doesn't add up.

Story and dialogue are da most important, unless it's like a moody movie with minimalistic dialogue and it's all about da shots and da atmosphere like Drive

Yeah, but movies like Drive are quite risky and you have to be 'lucky' or get everything done in order to pull it off properly. When I saw Valhalla Rising for the first time I thought it was pile of uninteresting crap with no plot.
