Yeah that's pretty sus Porcupine, I don't think she was trying to be racist, but the point she was making was also really really stupid. But I chalk that up to awkwardness/ignorance rather than prejudice

I wouldn't expect her to be so good at music AND be a sensible, rational person 100% of the time. Gotta pick one

Not being from the US isn't an n-word pass in any capacity

english not being your first language is tho, not everyone knows the history the word has on english-speaking countries
|
| |
First of all NA is far from the only country where the 'n' word has negative connotations. Secondly Bjork is affluent and has toured the world multiple times over she has no excuse don't be an ignoramus
|
| |
And even if English isn't your first language whether or not the use of that word gets a 'pass' is completely circumstantial.
|
| |
if you speak English fluently you likely know not to use that word regardless of its your first, second, or third

Plus she dated both Tricky and Goldie for awhile, she knows damn well what she was saying, just using a word laced with centuries of pain and violence to try to add cheap weight to a point she wanted to make.

Yep she done goofed

Yeah, Bjork is nuts. I thought the part when she attacked the paparazzo was pretty funny. The n word shit was extremely tacky/tone deaf as fuck. Especially so late in her career and having dated at least one black dude. Nobody should ever say "*insert thing* is the nigger of the world", especially white folks. It's not cute. "*insert thing* is really underappreciated like black people" makes a bunch more sense.
That all said, I would probably die for and also destroy her.
Edit: Didn't know she was with Goldie.

She probably thought she can get away with it cause Lennon did, but at least he had a somewhat logical point to make

being fluent in english doesn't guarantee that you know the n-word's history, it's not like there's a class dedicated to that 😅
but yeah, she's not only fluent but has also had socialization in english-speaking countries

lol And Lennon is a pretty well documented, fake woke piece of shit, so he doesn't get any points for that line either. It was as glaringly terrible wording then as it is now, if you ask me.

didn't say it did. but you don't need to know n-words history to know it is taboo. there are very few instances where knowing and then proceeding to use the n-word isn't just poor fucking judgement.

For sure, but at least the point he was making of women being oppressed was true and valid, comparing "audio" to racism against blacks is just... I honestly don't even have a word lol
