there was one time where i was in vacation and my family went to the top of this really huge mountain where there was literally no one else and there was no breeze or animals or anything and i'm pretty sure it was the closest thing i've ever heard to complete silence, i mean yeah just reading about it it kinda sounds dumb but the actual experience itself was surreal

I can imagine it sounding surreal. Shame I'll never know that. Oh well, at least my tinnitus isn't that bad.

"one night a few years ago i heard this loud beeping all night that wasn't actually there and i didn't
get any sleep so i always have a fan on/music when i sleep"
I've had this a few times. I can remember when the paranormal activity film came out, I watched it
then listened to Geogaddi straight afterwards at night.
Shit me rite up, but then I realised why would a demon want a random 18 year old in a densely
populated city.

"my aunt can't sleep unless she has an industrial fan running in her room i'm serious"
White noise. Makes total sense.

I was under the impression that in complete silence everyone experienced that ear-ringing of tinnitus at least on some level, is that not the case?
I just know that even when I was a kid absolute silence would make my ears start to ring - not sure why I'd have had tinnitus back then, though I get why I have a bit of it now.

Also, I'm one of the crew that falls asleep to music pretty often.
I have trouble sleeping and I actually kind of like when I fall asleep and then wake back up to something in the music because I'm always half-asleep and can pull my headphones off and fall back into it really easily. I like that little moment of knowing I'm ready to go to sleep.

I usually catch myself before I fall asleep, as I do god knows what while I'm asleep. but I go to bed with albums all the time. I enjoy them more that way too most of the time.

The Sennheiser HD-555s that I wear actually are comfy as fuck even when lying on them, earbuds make my ears sore if I try to sleep on the side of my head with them in, can't even imagine if it's the hard plastic kind.

I can't even remember how it was like when I didn't have tinnitus, if there was actually total silence or not. Quite a scary thought, but I've gotten used to my ring over the years...
