I can see this being my favourite Neurosis so far, love the insane amount of creativity/influences on this. It should be a mess, but it works, somehow.

the t/t is a beast & the combo of 'Chronology/Stripped' is one of the most captivating sections of music I've honestly ever heard.

If hell had a soundtrack to play for the poor souls that descent to inhabit its fiery chambers, it wouldn't be far from what Neurosis post-metal sounds like.

It doesn't beat the chaotic beauty of tsib but this record has some of the most atmospheric music you'll ever hear (regardless of genre)

I love the closing section of this album so much. And just a thought but Takahnase probably sounds the closest to post-metal here, surely influential.
This album essentially gave birth to post-metal, is that right? Any music history buffs want to counter that? I'm just interested.

"This album essentially gave birth to post-metal, is that right? Any music history buffs want to counter that? I'm just interested"
i suppose. i mean there are elements here of what would come to define their sound and style. still think enemy was the first neurosis as we know them now album.

This is a pretty different side to Neurosis tbh, but it's one of their best for me
