I lost respect for quite a few people when I looked at the user ratings for this. (like, say, the guy a couple posts above me)

St anger and justice are probabaly my least fave tali albums - st anger is weak with production and james lyrics are just not thought out enough - it was rushed throughbecause the fans were screaming for something, and also that the band were close to self distruct at the time and justice goes the other way - over produced, too long songs and too much goddamm politics. the best are puppets and black... BUT NOW THEY ARE WORKING WITH RICK BLOODY RUBIN MAN!!!! I MEAN HOW GOOD IS THAT GOING TO SOUND.
You have no idea what your talking about here, bud. Metallica's "...And Justice For All" is one of the LEAST produced Metal recordings of all time. Far less production went into it that recording, than MOP before, or BLACK after. "AJFA" is the shining moment in the 80's where "pure art" won out over commerce. Everyone else was delivering these super-glossy albums with a dozen tracks produced like singles. And, then Metallica drops a Progressive Rock record with 7 to 9 minute songs with like the dryest production ever. It was a huge middle finger to the music industry. Saying, we can do something that is diametrically opposed to everything you hold dear and cherish, and still be majorly succesful at it. "AJFA" is the bizzle-bomb, yo.

St Anger for starters tbh.

For starters pretty much every black metal album ever released that isn't CoF/Dimmu. Then pretty much a lot of underground thrash/death.
Sure the bass was turned down and the drums sounded rather tinny, but I've heard worse production.
Metallica bore me nowadays. I should lower my rating for this.

I like and Justice for all's production, call me mad but i love the sound of the kick drums (clicky sound like lots of metal bands today have) and the guitar tone is pretty sick imo
