"I mean don't get me wrong, this album is superb. But 'white people' do throw this shit around like it's just a story or something. The stuff he discusses isn't really a game, and I don't think most individuals stop to think about it."
I'm guessing you have not actually read my post and just saw a mass of words that referenced this topic. I specifically based my sentiment off of the fact that it's NOT a game. I was pointing out that this IS a reality
and that nas gives this perspective to all audiences in the most artistic way. I refuse to believe that your reading comprehension is that bad and i'll just assume you were not paying attention

You know I was not around when hawks was around, but I keep seeing these references to him. There was this list compiling his facebook posts and my favorite was:
"these fat bitches better keep my name out they mouth before I end their life."

Yeah, I didn't really read your post. The general sentiment with this album is usually 'hey this album is cool hood music 123' and that's where I was coming from with that post. A lot of people listen to this and copious other 'rap classics' because it's trendy or whatever. The fact of the matter is listening to a well planned rap narrative does not make you any more informed of inner city living on a significant level.

My entire point behind this was that as a white male from a completely middle class town, I cannot relate to this in a realistic way. We live in completely different worlds despite being in the same country, and he shares his perspective on america in a brilliantly artistic way and my point is that's valuable. There should be a perspective given from all points of view in this country becuase of the disparity

I like your point of view.
It's only valuable if it induces change.

Oh don't worry, it won't.

"In the P.J.'s, my blend tape plays, bullets are strays
Young bitches is grazed, each block is like a maze
Full of black rats trapped, plus the Island is packed
From what I hear in all the stories when my peoples come back, black"
"I dream I can sit back
And lamp like Capone, with drug scripts sewn
Or the legal luxury life, rings flooded with stones, holmes"
Lyrics for f*ckin days. Young Nasty Nas was just lethal
