Whatever, take your insecurity elsewhere.
My insecurity? You just have a knack for pulling bullshit out of your arse it seems. I am very free to voice whichever opinion I want about this album, as that is what this comment section is for. Just because my opinion differs from the majority, as well as the fact that it is a negative opinion, makes no difference to how relevant it is. So I will say it again just because I can:
I've listened to this, and it is by no means as good as you or anybody else says it is. Neither was Kezia, so THERE.This Message Edited On 02.06.08

I didn't realize you were the authority my bad.

Your insecurity was not something I fabricated for the sake of lols. It's blatantly obvious when you're so bothered by another bands success that you have to emphasise it for no reason other than to voice your unjustified frustration. People really like this album, people really like this band. The fact that you feel the need to interject OMG GET OVER IT THEY ARENT THAT GOOD just because YOU don't think so is irrelevant. That's an opinion that's barely worth tossing in because you're doing it just to fuel the fire, a pretty worthless effort given the reaction you'll get.

Want people to get over it? Get over Opeth. Get over Mirrorthrone. Get over Insomnium. There are just as many people who think they're not as good as you do. Yet, if I were to go into an Opeth review and say OMG GET OVER IT THEY ARENT AS GOOD AS YOU PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE, I'd look like a jackass. Why? Because I'm not the one who makes that call (you aren't either)....and because I like Opeth.

Maybe you feel left out, I dont know. But the fact that you actually seem bothered by people liking a band you dont makes the insecurity pretty obvious. This Message Edited On 02.06.08

So funny getting you worked up. That entire essay you just wrote above doesn't say a single thing. The fact that people literally discuss every single sound and every single second of this record is ridiculous. I've never done anything remotely similar to an Opeth album, nor a Mirrorthrone album, nor an Insomnium album. What, did you just look at some of my higher rated albums and try and seem like you were smart?

No, I looked at them to prove a point.

By coming in here purposely to go against the grain, you're cheapening the album for yourself, not any of the hundreds of people who enjoy it.

The fact that people literally discuss every single sound and every single second of this record is ridiculous.

Yeah how dare they be enthusiastic about an album they enjoy. Faggots.

Get out of my review thread now. It's frustrating enough to see pages of useless comments when I wake up, but I don't need some insecure poster cheapening the album for the people who enjoy it just because he didn't buy into it. Get out or grow up. Do not start an argument because you won't win, nor will it go anywhere. This has enough pointless discussion; admit your post was out of frustration, or that it was pointless, and get the fuck over it. It's fine to cutely joke around about how you feel the band isn't as good as others do, but honestly, get over it. It has absolutely zero effect on you.

The fact you just said "You're waiting for a 4 page response" shows your true colours better than I ever could anyways. This Message Edited On 02.06.08This Message Edited On 02.06.08

The fact that you're bothered by it is ridiculous.

Why? The fact that you're bothered about me voicing my opinion is ridiculous. What makes you think I was doing it to go against the grain? Your entire perception of my motivation is a complete assumption, as is what you think you know about me. I won't admit anything, because my post was made out of the fact that I wanted to say it. Understand?
No don't even bother replying, because I won't. You seem to think that everything you say about everyone else is completely justified, and the second someone says something against your opinion, you label him as an 'insecure poster [sic] cheapening the album'. Seriously, clench up a bit, you're leaking bullshit.

I'd say your intentions were pretty obvious

Everyone needs to get over this album now. THIS BAND ISN'T THAT GREAT.

But we'll leave it at that.

Can't we all just get along?

Sequoia Throne has grown on me so much, I only recently actually had the album delivered and I love it's lyrics, the song just seems to make more sense with them.

Oh and Coke, you're cool and all, but your hypocrisy has gotten too far.

So many times you've preached "staying on topic" but you're as quick to start a flaming war that eventually goes completely off topic.

I don't give a shit either way but you should think about giving it a rest or stay somewhat completely on topic. This Message Edited On 02.06.08

It was on topic of me trying to keep it on topic. I had to point out how ridiculous it was to take time out of your day to cheapen the value of an album you dont like just because other people like it more than you. I didn't start a flaming war; I pointed out what someone said in an effort to keep comments like that to a minimum in the future. I responded to a juvenile comment I probably shouldn't have, but I did so in an effort to keep those so unnecessarily bothered by the album's popularity out of my review.

I made a post in the pth thread about the Rody/Arif dynamic, vocally and lyrically. I'd say it's worth checking out.

I wish people would just listen to an album and make up their own opinion without all of this preconceived bullshit about an album being highly regarded by alot of people.

This album certainly took a few listens for me to get the hang of. Now I'm even enjoying Rody's 'tone' alot more than I used to. I find his vocals to be quite complementary to the spastic guitar parts.

He does like it, at least a bit. He just doesn't think it's a 4.5 or a 4 like a lot of us do. Which is fine, I just took issue with how he brought it up.

I'm curious, why doesn't this appeal to you Reznor?
I never said it was bad, but as coke said, I just don't find it as amazing as others do. That wasn't really the topic of argument

Glad we're past that.

But seriously what exactly aren't you buying into, I'm curious. Is it Rody's tone, or the lyrics and themes, or just the total package?
