Only listened to the new one once so far but based on the first impression it may be my favorite of theirs thus far. The first and last tracks on the album are quite possibly their 2 best songs ever.

The negative reception for their new album makes me quite sad. While it's not as good as this, it's easily better than BC or MG. Also, aside from the stupidity of the last track having absolutely no payoff, the whole thing flows extremely well.
To each his own, though.

There's like one good riff in that entire album and it stays for 20 seconds then is replaced by boring.

the riff for ex cathedra is fantastic the whole way through, one of the best riffs they've done imo
so is ahrimanic trance
so is the first track
all of which are some of their best riffs to me, i think the only track merely approaching boring at all is the last one
but opinions :]

CL is easily their most immediate and progressive album to date. It's the first album of theirs in which every track on the album left an impression on the first listen.
