Ive actually come to like This Is Where It Ends better than this. It seems to have less filler.

I wonder why no one ever mentions the production on this tho. This is where it ends is much better in that regard. Those tin-can snares are one of the things I used to hate most about this whole genre in the first place, before it became more mainstream and bands actually stopped using them

"Better defkoar albums?"

Without all the glossy production? Just straight up death metal mixed with hardcore punches to the face and awesome vox?

yea back in the day that used to be my biggest turn off and probably why i didn't like it so much. then i stopped solely listening to crystal clean metalcore

Well I'd argue this kind of snares and a very particular guitar sound was attribuable more to "garage" deathcore bands than crystal clean metalcore actually. That's why it bothers me with this album. because it reminds me of guys like this:

Or this:

Ofc ASP can't be compared to the garbage above, but damn does the production remind me of it

I'm not crazy about the production values on this thing, but I can certainly say that the album is quite an entertaining jam and a half. I've taken a shining to Prisoner of War in particular.
