Good review, but I disagree with your opinions on it. I think this is Metallica at their prime. It went downhill from here.

It is easy enough to hear the bass in the title track, one and Harvester of sorrow. And if you are that desperate to hear it you can just turn the bass up on your CD player.

Good review, even though i couldn't disagree more.

I would increase my album rating a full point if they remastered this with the bass way higher in the mix. Seriously.

i don't understand all the people complaining about the production on this. sure it has a tremendous amount of low end, but that was the norm for production in 1988. classic albumThis Message Edited On 06.23.08

hence my 5 rating. the only metallica album worth owning imo is this. but after listening to metallica and then megadeth, there's no contest. singwriting, singing, musicianship.... megadeth owns metallica in these regards

lol is that all?

This is like the huge bump in metallica's road in their early days. It doesn't come close to the greatness of their first 3 albums because 3/4ths of the songs here are long, boring piles of crapThis Message Edited On 08.13.08

Yeah for the most part this album rocks. It's wayyyy better and more mature than Kill Em All. I don't really see why that album gets that much credit.

I still love Kill 'em all but it have lost some sting. I guess it gets all the kudos through nostalgia.

People say that the bass is inaudible in this album. I agree, but isn't that in Master of Puppets as well?
