I've recently came to terms that this album is ultimate. Det Som Engang Var is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard period. Varg for prez.

So i gotta listen to this a million and one times!? O_O lol
This is why I haven't rated it yet though, cause I do honestly feel like I'm missing something here. Wouldn't be the first time. I wanna give this more listens but I've got so much other stuff to spin. This Message Edited On 03.20.08

Well, all I know is that I loved the song Det Som Engang Var upon first listen. It evoked tears from me. The emotion in that song is incredible. Inn I Slottet Fra Droemmen took a few more listens, but after a while I realized how amazing it was. Especially, the last riff of the song that it fades out on.
It did take me quite a few listens to get into Burzum, though. If you're not into Burzum then I would probably suggest the album Det Som Engang Var or Filosofem. Those are better albums to start off with I think.

I cant wait until Varg gets out of prison, even though he's a racist and a murderer, so we can get more albums like this from Burzum. I heard one of the Ambient albums he released and i didnt like it that much. This on the other hand is amazing.

I actually find Filosofem to be the hardest one to listen to.

Do you ever contribute anything useful to the site? Do you think we actually take your posts seriously anymore? Your jokes are worn out. Are you really so bored with your non-existent life that you have nothing better to do than try to get a rise out of people?
And on another note, I really don't care if people know that a song has made me teary-eyed before. I get a lot out of my music I guess. This Message Edited On 03.29.08

I think everyone minus Chan and a couple of staff members seconds that, lol. Anyway, I think I've given enough attention to him. He feeds off of it like a troll normally does.

It depends on the way you listen to it. If you're not too fond of Varg's really harsh vocals then Filosofem is the one you should probably get. If your not too fond of really long songs with riffs that rarely change, then Filosofem is probably the one you should most avoid.

^^^Thirded. Read my sound off for Moonsorrow's V: Havitetty. If that doesn't sound emo, I don't know what does lol. The last 4 minutes of that album makes me cry. And...I...LOVE...THE...FEELING!
Still trying to get into this, I really think there's some kind of metal block that's diverting the emotion contained herein...This Message Edited On 03.29.08

I need to listen to that Moonsorrow album. I've heard about 5 minutes of it and it was pretty good.
Anyway, if you're just getting into Burzum, this album may be kinda difficult to like. It's Burzum at its finest, but it is also very repetitive (in a good way imo) so I think it's best to start with Det Som Engang Var.
