'remember, y'all eliminated this in the first round of the GOAT metal album tourney.'

'It's not Opeth.'

'There are, like, 5 or 6 regular users that have heard this, the result doesn't come as a surprise.'

sad indeed

yeah, better than both Keepers imo. and it would have been incredibly better if it weren't for Kai's sloppy vocals.

yeah peoople keep saying that, but it just doesn't work for me. I like unique vocals, but to me he just can't sing.

That's fair. He grew on me over time. He did all those guest spots on BG albums and I kept wondering why they didnt just have Hansi sing instead, but after a while I dug him and then I was checking out Helloween's first LP and now here I am.

Walls of Jericho is also great yeah. I feel like he was more fitting for that album, due to its heavier approach. This is more melodic so I can't help but feel like there's some wasted potential. I keep thinking that some of the melodies would have been even better with a singer like Hansi. Like I said, even I think that it worked on Walls of Jericho, and I wouldn't want another guy to sing Ride the Sky.

Kai's vocals have more bite to them than most power metal and it's often what keeps Gamma Ray outside the cheese sector. His last few albums have finally fallen off enough that I wouldn't mind a new vocalist, but yeah I get tired of the Wall of Hansi.

I don't think that Gamma Ray are anywhere near to be outside the cheese sector. say, Man On a Mission is super cheesy even by power metal standards imo

I mean this is the band that wrote Heart of the Unicorn

so I can't really argue with you

but I don't roll my eyes nearly as much as I do at like, HammerFall

They've had a new vocalist for about the past year, so there's that

oh shit I totally forgot about that

they said at the time they'd be like, "sharing vocal duties" or something but now it looks like he's legit the new lead

perfect, problem solved then

Yeah Kai's vocals rule in this album.

I'll bump this to a 5.0 someday.
