“ Wings on Fire' to 'Darling Thoughts' is a tiny bit snoozy as a run of tunes for me is the my main criticism here.” Ever the Actor and Reindeer are big highlights for me, Wings on Fire and Darling Thoughts as standalone songs are indeed the lows.

Ever the Actor is definitely my favourite from those four but…the flow is broken by ‘Wings’ too much I dunno.



First four are such a well paced grouping, and then the last four pretty much replicate that on the way out.

Ever the Actor is a highlight, really love that one.

The way I’d describe Wings on Fire is it would be the standout track on one of their recent mediocre albums, has that vibe.



Here it’s just overwhelmed a bit.



Feels like ‘Day I Die’ on The National’s ‘Sleep Well Beast’ - it’s catchy, has energy but also a bit over eager

Wake Up/Enemy are one of the best upbeat/downbeat double acts I can think of recently, def my top two, though Wounded Soldier is pretty close in pursuit.



See Out Loud and Ever the Actor seem like the most trad Interpol tunes, good stuff but also I was always take it or leave it with Interpol including the debut so I like they’ve mixed it up here a bit.

I think Reindeer is super underrated. Lovely guitar playing and overall immersive atmosphere on that one.

The chorus in Wake Up is just incredible. Simple but effective. Totally hear Enemy as a National track too lol. And yeah they're appreciated far more with repeat plays because their sequencing is perfect.

Ever the Actor is def a highlight but the verses are the best part by far, for me. I could prob say that of quite a few Interpol tracks, now that I think of it.

Gyro - I think that makes sense...because our top picks are the ones that also have a great chorus added to the verse, which is rarer for the band.
