I say that as someone who considers CW one of their favourite artists, has enjoyed all her previous releases to varying degrees, has seen her and is wearing a CW t-shirt as they type this. Really hoping it's a grower.

I really do think this is her attempt at trying to reach a broader audience, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that because this isn’t like, dumbing down her sound at all or anything. She deserves to be so much more popular anyways.

It’s fuckin phenomenal man. I’m very seriously considering flying to DC and catching her in this beautiful synagogue… I have no idea why a concert is in a synagogue but it looks fucking tight

Oh that date is seriously the one year anniversary of my fiancé leaving me, great. So I’ll just be a fucking wreck while listening to the goth breakup songs.
If she plays The Waves Have Come I will literally cry.

Her vocal delivery is so all over the place in that song, and I mean that in a very good way. Like it’s just unpredictable. I really love the little piano motifs in the background of the verses too

I love how more restrained and personal this album feels

I think this has less staying power than her last record, but I feel like this was her taking a stab at a more straightforward rock sound and I think she killed it for the most part.
Her discography is ridiculously varied and this only adds to it. No two albums are truly alike but they all still feel distinctly Chelsea. She (+Ben) is seriously one of my favorite songwriters of all time.
I said this after She Reaches Out… but again I don’t have any idea where she can even take her sound from here, but that really excites me.
