Love In the worldless chamber and Empty, but I can't seem to enjoy the rest of the album.

Yeah, Nightside has some great atmosphere, but Anthems has some of the best songs this band has ever done.

In the Nightside Eclipse is definitely their best, but Anthems isn't too far off.

Well, each to their own, Hawks. As music composition goes, this album beats all other Emperor releases

by a long shot. Guitar riffs and tempos are amazing and miles ahead the previous albums. Different

people value different aspects of music, obviously, so it's only natural opinions diverge.

Again, I'm not a black metal fan so I guess the atmosphere of Nightside and the other albums can

appeal more to a black metal fan than Prometheus does.

Personally, I find this and the last Ihsahn album ("After") the best pieces he ever recorded. And

they're very fine by any standard, let alone metal.

I tried getting into this band, but they made my ears bleed (Feels like I visited hell for the thirty seconds I could manage to listen). The satanism didn't help much either. But, they're a good band, that much I know, but much of the production found on these albums is intentionally bad and that fucks everything up.

It's a prime example of formalism in music. A loto of solos, riffs - everything pushed to the extreme and extremely repetitive. They've tried to be Chuck Shuldiner of black, but this music is empty, repetitive and nonsensical
