Yeah it definitely seems to be well received, I checked some of the overa critic aggregates.
Realistically and objectively, this is at least a 3.5 or 4 album. But this is only after one listen and it’s impossible for me to be completely objective.
My score sheerly reflects my subjective opinion/rating, which is more or less how I rate on Sputnik. I was about to go with a 3, but then seeing albums I’ve rated 3, it just didn’t make sense for me.

Definitely enjoyed this on my first spin. It's very pleasant, straightforward indie-rock. Part of me misses the beautiful atmospheres that permeated Asphalt Meadows, but this could grow on me once the melodies sink in a bit more. My favorites right off that bat are How Heavenly a State, Full of Stars, Punching the Flowers, Trap Door, Riptides, and I Built You a Tower (b).

It has the feeling of an album that will randomly hit me one day when I'm playing it in the car. Just given the sheer amount of songs I liked, it seems inevitable that I'll grow more attached with time.
