“Storm- yeah this is the one he’s been talking about for like a decade now. It cost him an arm and a leg to get the orchestra and apparently the recording, production and distribution were also a financial mess.”

Oh snap. I gotta jam this after the new Converge.

Devin is probably amongst my favorite metal musicians of all time, maybe top 3, even to this day, which is why it feels almost weird to say that I haven't connected with any of his albums since Transcendence. From then onwards, it's just been about some ocasional moments of brilliance amongst a jumble of ideas and a bit too much self-indulgence for my taste. This album is exactly that, once again.

I still admire him immensely, though. Sometimes just hearing/reading interviews of his is some of the most inspiring stuff there is, for me, and I'm definitely happy to see him in a good place mentally.

I love how EVERYONE loves and appreciates Devin, even those who don't enjoy his music. The man is a treasure.
