album sleeps a bit for my tastes on second half, yet second half of those tracks redeem themselves.

@DDDeftoneDDD That's probably why the album is so effective. First three songs are solid, and then you get to track 4 and think: "Okay, the album is kinda losing steam a little" and then you get blasted with the second half of the song.
After that, you surely think "Okay, this is when the album is going to dip a little in quality", only to get smacked again by some of their heaviest stuff yet again. Then the last song keeps the tension on a then it's over.
That's what a perfect sequenced album is supposed to do, to keep your attention all the way through.

I haven’t checked any Elder since Omens and I find this incredibly fresh. The prominent use of major key sigs makes it a really colorful listen.
Could have called it “Elder - Fun with Time Signatures”

another classic, its astonishing how the music unfolds with every listen until it creates this ocean of sound you just want to linger in.
One of the best Live bands as well and I'm quite thankful that I get to see them almost every year.
