Every time I listen to this album I have a different song stuck in my head, or I'll morph sections of different songs into one medley. Started figuring out Pharmacy Film on guitar so I can jam along to this shit.
Regarding the take that this is them shedding the TCOS pastiche - I've never gotten that sentiment. They have two songs that sound a lot like Underoath to me and one of them wasn't even on their previous album nor EP. Olli actually said in an interview that he never listened to Underoath until after he'd started Static Dress so I don't think it was ever a goal of his to sound like them. That said, I agree that they've definitely come more into their own unique sound here. I really can't get over how much they've improved on what's already one of my favorite albums ever.
Face should've made the cut and I'm not sure why they didn't include it. They said during their last Twitch stream that it was supposed to be on the album but eventually they decided to scrap it.

I won't disagree with that. I just never really heard the TOCS stuff in them in that way. If anything, I felt like it was more in line with DTGL but still not a copy of Underoath.

Theyve really combined a taking back Sunday with glassjaw sound here, and I don’t mean that in a bad way either. Very nastalgic. Wonder if they’ll keep leaning more into this glassjaw sound from here
Haven’t finished this yet but so far I’m digging it

Not going to lie, when I heard the intro opener I really thought it was saying "suck this dick and you're free"... I need to clean my ears
