Ok this is definitely a good album, nonetheless the first half almost ruined it for me.
The opener, for example, while being a decent song it can't hold a candle to others such as The Sorrow of Sophia, Cry of Silence and A Scenary of Loss, just to name a few. Don't think there are enough good parts in it that justify its almost 8 minutes. The same can be applied to the Face of God, which just drags and drags.
Aenima is another one that left a sour taste in my mouth. The guest singer turned the track almost into a lifeless Swallow the Sun song.
The Monochromatic Blade, I Gave You Wings and Cold Heavens, on the other hand are incredible tracks and worhty additions to the band's legacy.
