Finally given this a proper listen and it rips, probably my favourite post-reunion ATG album. Tompa's vocals are raw as fuck but that's expected given the circumstances. Definitely a worthy send-off though, RIP big man.

To Drink from the Night Itself is on par if not better despite its slightly wonky production.

Post SOTS ranking is TDFTNI = This > At War with Reality > The Nightmare of Being

Man I haven't jammed this band in literally ages. Might just have to give this thing a whirl! Great review as always

i'd say this>at war with reality>nightmare>drink

not really too far off in quality, i like drink just the production is horrendous sadly. i also really like the experimentation of nightmare.

I like the mix on Drink, nice and dark.

For me, my ranking of the post-reunion albums would be The Nightmare of Being > this > At War With Reality > To Drink From the Night Itself.

damn, really sucks the vocalist passed away might check this out. used to listen to melodeath all day every day but the genre has grown off me for being a bit predictable overall

This probably won't do much to change your mind on that, but its a very solid album.

This isn’t generic melo death. These are the godfathers and album is solid as expected. Give it a chance.

Obviously the reviews are for the respect of this amazing vocalist and legendary band… cuz going strictly on the music, it’s really bad lol. But I’m glad we got these final songs with Lindberg before he died. Rip
