An hour and 18 minutes?
Jesus Christ, this sounds right up my alley but some of us have jobs

listened to it twice today at my work desk
(hehe... sorry, I used to get jealous of ppl for bragging about this and now I've become what I hate or something. I get it. This is excessive!)

"Absolutely. Some reviews I have read say that it is "too much" -- I just love it -- like getting lost in a long novel."
That's what I felt with Visitations. Now and then they came back to a kind of main theme. There was also more thrashy and riffy hooks to hold you through "the journey". I'm still trying to grab that on this one...this felt a bit all over the place, even to their own thing, if I make any sense.
Their kind of thing is always on the verge of bloating. I hope that feeling doesn't come out here. Visitations from Enceladus was one of my hardest 5's for that matter.

I remember a review on this site for BTBAM's "The Great Misdirect" describing the track "Swim To The Moon" as a form of musical masturbation. That has always stuck with me and nothing has ever fit that description so well... until I heard this album. This is self-indulgence cranked up to eleven: a bout of musical edging over an hour long.
Is that a bad thing? I'm not quite sure yet. But man... it's long lol

BTBAM are definitely a bad thing. This is not a bad thing necessarily but I’m also still deciphering where I land on this scale.

I think I'm making the mistake of trying to compare these guys with Blood Incantation too much. It would be wrong of me to say that they need to be more concise like BI because that seems like a apples-oranges comparison.

Yeah, nothing like BI at all imo.

Colors still rules bro

Rules like a nice wet shit.

BI are def the easiest reference point as super long space-themed prog death metal, even if this is much more tech thrash leaning. im also getting a lot of cynic and atheist influences

yep, I was about to say BI isn’t a bad comparison necessarily but these guys are more thrash leaning

Cynic, Atheist and Coroner would be who I'd compare them to the most for sure. BI has the whole prog electronic/ambient thing going on that these guys don't do. Just my opinion of course.

this has way more in common with canadian tech thrash like obliveon, martyr, and voivod than it does any of the above mentioned bands imo
