😂

Granted, JD is more inaccessible so it kindof makes sense. At any rate, I just listened to Jane doe again and I spoke too soon.

Don’t shut the site down again. I’ll be good, I promise.

Really what’s the deal with that? And is there any way we can keep it from happening?

Obviously there’s not a lot of active users but I still like it, and I like most folks here, and I’ve added a few on socials and would even call a few of them friends.

I’d seriously miss this site if it went down for good. And it honestly would just be kinda upsetting if we lost all the reviews, lists, and other threads… and all the literal decades worth of content.

It’s the only forum I post on and I actually kinda love how tight knit the community is.

Wildcard — I’m not as active or well known here, but I was thinking the same. Is there a reason we aren’t? Does someone own it and just..doesn’t give a shit but won’t relinquish the site?

I only know very scattered things about the history, including the staff mass exodus. I know the jist but only very broadly.

At any rate, I’d be willing to throw a few hundred bucks in a hat if it’s a money thing, and obviously others would have to contribute whatever they could as well.

Food for thought.

But yeah, I am fully aware that every time it goes down, it could be for good. And when that happens, we’ll probably be completely shit outta luck at that point. Point of no return

This place has underpinned my music tastes since I was 14, I'm 33 now. "Sputnik" is in my mates' lexicon - "What's it rated on Sputnik?" Numbers like 3.9, 4.2 and 4.5 hold a lot of meaning.

Never let Sputnik die, someone.

I've been frequenting the site since 2005. Sputnik is one of the things that helps keep me sane -I'd really miss it if it went down for good.

You see them before jr? Seriously one of the best live bands out there, which is so fucking impressive to seeing they’re like 50

And I got a strong feeling Hum of Hurt will be even better than this. Neurosis rising from the dead quickly dethroned this as my AOTY, but these guys won’t go down without a fight with a second fucking LP. I still can’t believe we’re getting another record even tho it’s exactly what I was hoping for after seeing they only used like a third of the songs they claimed to have written.

Tbh at this point I wouldn’t be shocked if they closed the year out with an EP containing the remaining songs from these sessions à la Beautiful Ruin

Saw them for the first time last year and it was incredible. Hell to Pay hit like a ton of bricks when Nate dropped that bass line. Gonna be amazing seeing them with my other favorite metalcore band Poison the Well who also dropped a heater this year
