Idk, just a bit too polished for me.

this doesn’t sound remotely live, and it doesn’t sound like they sound live either. ordo ad chao was the last time they took bold artistic choices, this iteration of mayhem feels extremely safe.

esoteric warfare had a lot of cool ideas on it even if it was just a sort of thinly veiled blasphemer cosplay.

They sound exactly how would for a legacy band at this stage in their career. They aren’t a raw edgy underground band any more, they are vets who play main stage at festivals. Not saying it’s good or bad, just that I wouldn’t expect a band like them to have gritty production one a record at this stage

I agree with that, I'd just like them to think a bit more outside of the box than what they displayed her tbh.

More than likely you'll be unimpressed with the whole thing then lol.

Oh and the cover art is so bad, there's one version that's just white and it looks cooler than the final one

It's been a long time since ive heard to be fair but it hasn't resonated like other bands in the genre. Maybe I'm due for another try

I dunno man, it looks so amateurish and generic to me, like 80's cheese type of artwork, this one looks cooler to me:
