I think there's a benefit to this being my first MΓL album - I went in with zero expectations and it's a fantastic album. But maybe if you're already familiar with them it's like going into The Serpent and the Sphere with [insert your fave Agalloch album] expectations - doesn't matter if it's fantastic...the bar has been set so high π€·π»ββοΈ

I think once you check out Diorama or Jordi you can probably see how some fans haven't liked the evolution into a more polished sound, inclusion of cleans etc. Personally, I dig all of their albums, including this one - Garland, in particular, is such an earworm

Alright, I had to listen to Jord to see what people are griping about and here's the thing: I do get where they're coming from in that this album didn't conform to expectations.
But here's the other thing: you sound like the "dEAfheaVen haSNt doNe anYthiNg goOd siNce roAds to juDAh" crowd, and that's fine and I hope you feel vindicated but at the end of the day I'm still fapping and getting off to ALL of it
