Grey Guitar is the biggest standout track to me after several listens. Love the Alkaline Trio-esque chorus. Well, Whatever It Was and the title track are the weak point of the album, not that they're bad but they sound like something you'd hear in Steven Universe.

This isn't going to rank above Never Hungover again nor S/T but damn it's good. Really love After All You Put Me Through and Mark Chen a lot too. I feel like some of the guitar work here is a nice step up from their past material, especially in The Opossum.

interesting, I'm feeling the exact opposite lol. Well, Whatever It Was (and the first half of the album in general) is the standout for me but I'm not really feeling Grey Guitar. Shout out to The Opposum tho, banger

rock solid album, definitely much more musically interesting than the last two. decent amount of variety for a short album and the vocals are way more energetic which i missed. first half really carries though. mark chen and all my friends are def my favs. i like when they go full weezer like well whatever it was as well.

opossum is my fav on the back half. just great melodies and jangles on here balanced with the right tempo this time. they are just way better uptempo. i still prefer cody but this was enjoyable. sucker for their style. glad these guys are still around. 1 mil listeners on spotify kinda blew my mind. good for them.

okay, listened to 40oz and Million Dollars To Kill Me. both had some big highlights but def felt weaker than this as a whole so yeah, this wins. could make a truly stellar tracklist with the highlights from the 3 of them i bet

million dollars is a mega snoozer (big lie tho) but fresno was solid. agree this is the more consistent though. this captures a bit of their early energy with their later stuff. a fun blend.

first 3 and t/t on Million Dollars are great (Think Im Still In Love With You is kinda perfect tbh)

Souvenir is one of the coolest tracks I've heard from them. NBTSA and Gotta Let It Go feel so classic Joyce Manor too

souvenir is great but it's actually a cover if you didn't know. so makes sense it's a little out there for them.

the oppossum and closer are good but victims of this being so short, feel like we only got half the track and the band couldnt be bothered to finish them. i like the opener the best and the title track!

Only track i dont care for here are Well, Don’t It Seem Like You've Been Here Before

Agree that it falls victim of being a tad bit short but i think that could be said of their whole discog and this isnt the one that leaves me feeling that the most either

just learned Well Don't It Seem Like You've Been Here Before is just a remade version of Fuck Koalacaust. Mark Chen takes lines from an older demo as well but beyond that, it's a different track.

finally listened to all their LPs and saved Of All The Things... for last since it's rep has been bad for my whole time knowing this band. and like...i really liked it lol, maybe more than this. feels like a weird midpoint between s/t and NHA where it still has a similar aesthetic to the former but is clearly trying to be a bit more polished. the songs themselves feel even SHORTER than they typically do but they're really good imo.

yes totally hear that! especially on all my friends that really remind me of slower menzingers songs. in fact this album got me to spin after the party because of some similarities haha

both are americana-y pop punk so it tracks. every one i know who likes one of them likes the other, tho i never thought of that comparison before
