i like the first disharmonium the most tbh. haven't listened to a lot of their earlier stuff honestly they have such an extensive catalogue that it's a lot to get through. gonna throw on some of it today

"I mean, idk about that tbh. Mare Cognitum, and loads of other bands, owe a lot of their sound to these guys lol."
That's what I mean, it's a cycle. It's pretty cool to see because it shows Vindsval is highly aware of the black metal scene and his place within it. I'd say that's why BAN release bangers so consistently and why other bands fall short.

BAN's music is really diverse and colorful. Maybe this is not a challenging or a revolutionary album (same for Hallucinogen), but this is also very professional and masterfully done. Made for a different purpose, imo.

I really enjoy the extended instrumental breaks with the cyclical riffing and introduction of other layers (chanting, synths, etc.) that BAN pulls out from time to time. "Seclusion" is a great example of this. I listened to it and it reminded me of how I used to approach writing stuff for guitar.

The Fall Opens the Sky is in SOTY conversation for me. What an atmospheric masterpiece, much like the whole album, but that song just sticks out for me.

Wonderful album. Almost a bit too sweet, but great nonetheless. CD ordered.
Even though the artwork give me Midjourney 2022 vibes.

Oh my, this is good. The synths really make it live up to its title.
EDIT: not blown away but I like the atmosphere.

I'm of the opinion that this may be BAN's most approachable album. It's unironically an uplifting sort of record. Especially when compared to something like DSM which might as well be the soundtrack to Hell.
