tbh they’ve got some solid tunes but it’s not worth it, if you want fun ridiculous music just listen to Dillinger Escape Plan.

Idk to me TDEP works all the weird shit into their songs so effectively, and I feel like it’s a gimmick with these guys.

would rather do some late night gooning w/deftones

Haven't heard a single song from these guys in probably a decade. I think I might circle back and give them a chance with this one.

Alright to fans, I’m sorry but I’m about a minute into the first track and how can you possibly expect anyone to jam this all the way through when this nonsense is what opens the album.
I listened to it once when it came out and it’s just as stupid as it was then.
“Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.” will be written on this bands headstone.

God Terror is a lot better, but it would be even better without all the electronic bells and whistles.

Just make a five minute banger, you don’t have to do all this extra shit

"Just make a five minute banger, you don’t have to do all this extra shit"
That was my prevailing thought about "Absent Thereafter"--it did not need to be that long of a track

Good review man but this thing is ass. I really tried to get on its wavelength but there’s just too much annoying parts to it. When they decide to get their shit together and go hard it’s obvious that they’re very technically gifted musicians but goddamn they gotta stop with the gimmicky shit

Yeah the first track is such bait for what comes later, this is probably their most batshit insane album (for better and for worse) and I'm so here for it. Really love how this album explodes into its centerpieces with Psychomanteum and Slow Paranoia

also really love it as a change up to the slow moody intro tracks they've opened every album with since colors. apparently there is an instrumental "overture" bonus track on the vinyl that was probably meant to open the album initially... think this thing is way better off just going raw.
