this band would be better with a different vocalist bc the instrumentals are fine but I'm at the end of my rope with Vessel tbh

I try to. I like a wide variety of stuff for sure. If he thinks I'm elitist he should've seen some of the douche wagons running around these parts 15 years ago lmao.

I’ve been on the site since 2008. I’ve seen a lot of shitty people.

So have I lmao. If you knew me at all you'd know I am nowhere near elitist. This band just sucks massive amounts of donkey peen. If that triggers you then I'm sorry.

Oh it doesn’t trigger me at all. It’s just funny to see people say that the band has no talent.

Claxons should have been going off in your brain as you typed this

i mean, by a lot of technical metrics you could do way worse than this - II is a great drummer and his drumming elevates a lot of these tracks even if he does get ignored in favor of those trap beats (which are pretty tacky and unneeded - their first two albums didn't need them to be solid) a lot on this album and Eden. The guitar tone could do with less processing, but I'd probably still take this tone over the scooped-mids ear-cancer that was plaguing metal in the 90s (thank you dimebag for your contributions but your tone sucked). instrumentally this is completely fine, serviceable at worst. Vessel is an inconsistent vocalist with a tone you'll either love or hate, I find myself annoyed by him for the same reasons I find myself annoyed by a vocalist like Peter Steele or Corpse Husband. the lyrics are something I've actively chosen to ignore in a lot of songs, but I probably would be less positive otherwise.

idk as lukewarm as i am i can't see myself ranking this amongst the blood on the dance floors, bryce savages, and soggy butt queefs of the world. i find it neither good enough to be lauded so intensely by the media nor bad enough to deserve this strong of a hate-wave, but the latter may just be how desensitized I am to "bad" music.

Possibly, I was trying to draw parallels to how despite the arrangement are still somewhat proggy there’s like a poppy edge to what is going on, especially with how forward the piano is in the mix. I should’ve clarified I was talking specifically of like 2008 viva la vida era Coldplay, which also saw them break away from traditional song structure a bit but still maintained a piano forward alt rock sound. I have fallen off the Coldplay train for about a decade as I’m not as fond of their newer material.

That is also something I find odd. I can understand people not liking this but I’d figure from at least the musical variety and fun with genre hopping it at least be a 2 out of 5. Seeing people bomb rate this so bad is Amusing to experience and see for sure.

Good write up. This is just going to be one of those bands that this site hates. Wasn't my favorite, but it's mostly grown on me. There is some absolute trash on this though, but that's the case with every Sleep Token album with me. All I want is an album full of songs like Summoning, TMBTE, Infinite Baths and Vore, maybe they'll be in the mood for that one of these days.

I would love an album by them that is from the perspective of “Sleep” that is just pure anger with tracks that are like Vore and Gods. After many listens to Infinite Baths, it is definitely a top 5 of theirs to me.
