I think the fisrt part of the second song, with the robotic voice is a bit boring (too long) but despite of that the album is very good. It’s going to be one of the hits of his career for sure.

As I thought it does get better with each listen, the parts that hit really HIT, he also really nailed it with the instrumentals and it's some of his most mature compositional stuff to date

I thought ultimately it was gonna end up being a dud, but it isn't. A very enjoyable record in fact

I'm really torn on this album. I really, really like Objects Outlive Us and it's probably his strongest longform composition yet, but I really don't care much for The Overview in general; the instrumental outro might be the one part of it I truly enjoy, but that still leaves me with about 15 minutes of music I don't really care for and it feels like Steven Wilson is on autopilot for most of it.
This album's better than The Future Bites, but it's not as varied or enjoyable as The Harmony Codex.

Gave it a couple of listens so far and would agree with "better than The Future Bites, but it's not as varied or enjoyable as The Harmony Codex."
Harmony Codex which I happened to listen to again this morning and is really, really nice. Actual Brutal Facts is fantastic

don't get the love for Actual Brutal Facts. What Life Brings is a beautiful song and an instant classic in the vein of the special ones PPT used to do like Trains etc. The rest of Harmony Codex is cool and I'm glad it exists, just don't think it's much to write home about

it's a prog album that doesn't sound like a prog album

that sounds like it could be a selling point for some people

Well what I think works about this album is that it employs progressive elements to paint a picture, i.e. the function really follows the form here, rather than the other way around. Which is something you could argue against something like, say The Raven, which is very prog for the sake of prog (I prefer The Raven btw)

I love how Buddah just feels like floating upwards forever. Such a great moment.

Got to see him perform this in full on Friday. Was really incredible, coupled with some cool visuals. I may have to revisit my rating…the solo at the end of Objects was beautifully played live.

It's quite an easy listen surprisingly. Perhaps works a bit better as semi-background music though lol

I didn't really connect with this one until I saw it performed live - in particular the visuals really added to my appreciation (the performance itself was flawless, which goes without saying)

Seeing this live is probably an A1 experience. Tickets were ridiculous when I was looking into the tour dates sadly
