He's not terrible but idk he just doesn't do it for me.

The combo of "Collusion" and "The Fall of Us" are my favorite off this. "Discordant Nation" and the closer are awesome too. Solid album imo

“ I guess I gotta go back through Foley's drumming catalogue tho”

Blood Has Been Shed - Spirals was his best performance imho

This isn't great but it isn't all bad.

Some pretty decent riffs scattered here and there. But the cleans are pretty horrific.

OK so this just sounds good, they still throw some curveballs here and there. Like it.

"If anything this band lacks a “oh shit this is insane” album/moment. They’re just consistently great. But also agree they were quintessential/influential af and to say anything otherwise is silly"

"Acting like Killswitch are “overrated” when they almost single-handedly codified melodic metalcore as a genre is a bit of a reach imho"

I didn't say they were bad. They are a good band with one or two very good albums. Just whenever I hear they are the greatest metalcore band of all time I just cannot compute.

Even on this site they don't even have one album in the top 100 metalcore chart. Anyway, whatever the case this album doesn't have much to come back to unless you are a hardened fan of the band.

KSE by the numbers but Jesse's performance lifts it by at least 0.5

The back half of this slaps pretty hard at times but a lot of this is just pretty standard KSE. Which is fine, I wasn't really expecting anything different at this point

I like both vocalists, surprised by the Jesse slander

I like Jesse as much as Howard and I'm tired of pretending I don't

On the topic of Howard, I'm surprised Devil You Know isn't in the database

I liked them both. Lean slightly towards Jesse because I'm racist (jk I just prefer his voice). Devil You Know was disappointing, can't remember a single song

Back half of the album is full of bangers.

For all the Howard fans in chat: I was skeptical, but Howard’s SION project with Jared Dines actually rips. The songwriting is a fair bit stronger than LTT and it feels like a more modern take on the TEOH sound. I’d rank it up there with Hymn of a Broken Man when it comes to KsE related side projects.

oh shit, Howard's got more side stuff than LTT? Gotta peep. I'm really into that post-metal side thing of Justin Foley's, I think it's called Lybica?
