I moreso meant the combination of the 3. His Idol character felt like an exaggerated personification of his lyrics so I found the comment interesting

I don’t listen to his music for his acting abilities

Niagara falls into the next song probably the best part of this asides from the first song. It's alright. Doesn't stand close to After Hours IMO.

After Hours is clearly his best studio album but I won't take any Dawn FM slander. Probably his tightest and most conceptual studio release

Honestly it just feels like the weeknd is obsessed with death in general. I wouldn't be surprised if he's constantly anxious about his own mortality irl

The abyss definitely could’ve/should’ve been cut, Lana’s part is pretty awful.

I’d personally also leave off Given Up on Me and Without a Warning to help with the bloat, and baptized in fear needs a much better hook. Maybe leave off Travis Scott as well.

Apparently the version on the scam "first pressing" physical albums have Lana's part completely cut amongst other changes (like missing half of the album).

If you were being generous you could say they just decided to upgrade the album to a quase deluxe edition last minute (screwing over people who pre orderered in the process) but the guy has always been so dodgy with merch and business practices I'd say shit checks out

Between the art and the tracklist meddling and a lot of mumblings of last-minute adjustments, it seems like they really didn't nail this thing down until the last minute

lots of great albums make adjustments right up to time of release. They still took the time to record 22 professionally produced tracks full with transitions and outros and a good sense of flow. It’s not like it’s the life of Pablo wear it truly is a random smattering of songs.
