I wouldn’t try to convince you. Something about the ep really works for me tho. It’s fucking catchy. Like wild said, the brevity works. I’ve got it on repeat like a nerd.
I think a lot of mathcore fans are happy to hear this. It harkens back to the likes of daughters self titled a bit, of course with a touch of Dillinger. But they’re obviously doing their own thing. As a fan of the genre, it’s fascinating

These guys aren't half the package that was Dillinger imo. They never get past the djun wees, and that's a small part of Dillinger's sound. The thing I love about mathcore that isn't really here is dynamism, the peaks and valleys. As medium it's better with senses of atmosphere and off kilter melody. This is basically djent with some hardcore parts, and I've always found the vocal very generic. But I'm glad they have plenty of fans appreciating their output still.

Completely disagree, I feel like these guys have doubled and tripled down on trying to use buzzsaw hm2 tones on bouncy meshuggah riffs (my problem with sectioned as well) and it just doesn’t work. They have memorable parts but it all is so treble-y and hard to pick out what’s actually happening that it’s tough for me to sit through a whole record.

the junz burned endlessly into our skulls (or what Million / botb said). I feel like they could’ve done something a lot more interesting after Oxidized but this is colourless, monotonous and ‘heavy’ with little else going for it. It reminds me of the recent Knocked Loose x djent (certainly nothing close to tDEP)

Kinda with you Demon only I can dig mindless chugging a bit more lmao. Idk this is good but I'd take new Counterparts 10 times out of 10 over it for an EP of pure relentless mathcore.

oh yeah this is the shit. def heavy tony danza vibes. last 3 tracks could be right out of danza 4 right down to the small atmospheric parts and especially the stop start angular guitar bombing. wearing hell def my fav here, that bouncy intro riff and wobbly guitar screeching is just amazing.
