@larkinhill yeah bro you need to cut up rip so it's just the final 23 seconds where they're doing the church respects to the fish bit as an interlude and make a playlist of the album with that in instead of rip and no die4u, the album is a lot better that way.

Spot-on. After about a dozen listens, I can definitively say the two songs I hate are rip and die4u. I haven’t been skipping just to see if they’d grow…and they have not, though now I hate die4u more than rip.

Dig It isn’t bad but…I dunno, considering these are the guys with suicide silence and hospital for souls as closers, I know they could do better. The song has good bones but just isn’t very memorable.

Really like the rest. Strangers, Amen and n/a still lag behind all the songs before them for me, but they grew on me. I just don’t like some of n/a’s lyrics, a bit cringe.

I also didn’t know oli had relapsed until I started listening to this more a couple days ago, and kinda caught up on what had been going on with the band since Fish departure.

Honestly, I think him leaving may be a good thing now.

Youtopia, 10 statues (holy fuck did this grow on me, I now consider it one of their best songs),limousine and lost are def my top 4.

SH still has yet to grow on me, but it’s alright. Like a 2.8. It SHOULD be up my alley, but hasn’t gotten there for me yet. And maybe it never will.

random thoughts from last night's show:

- easily some of the best stage production i've ever seen. i've also seen metallica and soad within the past 12 months and this bmth show felt far closer to what i imagine seeing beyonce is like than either of those two. ginormous three tier stage with every single song had some combination of dancers, lasers, confetti, pyrotechnics, a long ass video intro, oli with some kind of crazy zombie filter. was some real high end shit i wasn't quite prepared for lmao. they even had daryl and uzi filmed doing their parts on amen lmao

- i also kinda mean the beyonce thing in more ways than one. anyone who has been following this band already kinda knows but that was 100% oli's show. the cameras were on him the entire time and i don't think i saw him interact with the rest of the band even once over the course of like 2 hours. they showed a sort of career retrospective video before doomed and even that was like 95% oli. dude is undeniably a hell of a front man tho and did quite a lot of harsh vox

- as for their performance, ngl i was getting some playback vibes. not really from oli but from the rest of the band. no idea how they used to do things with fish in the band, but they had every single sample electronic element from the albums blasted through the PA in a way that felt a little unbecoming? the guitars in particular sounded a little too tight and a little too close to the albums. also any time there was a hint of electronic drums on a song (mantra for example) they completed drowned out the real drums.

was def a pretty fun show overall (especially if you're a fan of their later material) but figured i'd drop this in here in case people were contemplating it.

I guess it makes sense that Oli would hog the spotlight considering he's so recognizable, but also lol at the other members who have been in the band since like day one.

Also did you see System during one of their string of shows last summer? Was pretty sick.

yeah saw them at one of the toronto dates with deftones, def one of the top shows i've ever been to but was comparatively way more minimalist of a stage production. my shirt got ripped to shreds in the pit during deftones' set lmao

That sounds about right lol

We saw them in NY/NJ with Korn and the crowd towards the rail was super aggro. We had to move to the back of the pit where there were still a ton of circles and movement, but no angry 40 year olds throwing elbows or trying to stomp on our feet.

I watch the Bring Me the Horizon: L.I.V.E. in São Paulo movie and it showed the other band members a ton; that film definitely wasn't a "show Oli all the time" production. And I completely agree their stage production was top tier. There are a lot of big bands that could learn a thing or two from BMTH.
