lol I peeped back in just to ask if Mort. had checked this yet - I mean this is perfect metalcore length / full throttle friendly and he's still slacking

You have buried your head in a sad place and face failure and sadness unless you torch that pile
Interactions with Pisces may take on an unfamiliar rapport throughout the rest of the month

yeah, this was the most inevitable eventuality ever, lol
I don't make lists asking for random recs (or recs for any specific genre) come to think of it, likely to end badly when you cannot be arsed anymore
ruins the organic nature of music discovery (that's already diluted somewhat by this place, but still I like actually choosing my next adventure!)

Specific genre recs are useful if you have the appetite, but asking Sput for random recs is a guaranteed ticket to 100 mediocre mxc/alt rock albums you will never sniff at

Yep. Specific genre recs can be useful, but only if you are absolutely 100% sure you need that many albums of *insert type* because sometimes much smaller quantities are adequate
it probably works better with obscure 'rare-on-Sput' type-stuff for the simple reasoning that you will only likely receive very specialist advice, from a few knowledgeable folk who've done their research (not 100 x genericore albums, like in your example)

Word lol, anything the wrong side of black metal just looks like a pain trip
It's 2024, and all roads (that don't filter out at least half the site) still lead to Counterparts

its the constant battle between my need for structure and the fact that any list you make of 'things to check' is inevitably gonna have stuff you dont enjoy/find out you arent interested in after one brief listen (sometimes the first song)

Serious I like / seek structure but I also hate being told what to do vibes
I get it

It pains me to say this but the vox is killing this for me, which is a bummer cause I like everything else about this. Dopamine chaser is awesome though
