I like Liturgy and this record is good, but I felt like I was listening to it forever this morning.

i'll half-jokingly just say that RHH having studied philosophy would explain most of the wild shit she's said (some of which is actually kind of interesting admittedly)

I like chaotic music like Vermin Womb, Lotus Eater Machine or Frontierer but this album right here doesn't click with me. Probably too weird, too experimental.

I recognize the muscianship and applaud them for being original though.

Interesting you say that, as this feels very accessible to my ear, just a bit long lol. I’d recommend trying it a couple of tracks at a time, using the interludes as a guide of when to take a break, or jam it as LP1 and LP2 separately. Antigone II in particular is exhausting and a bit grating if it’s your first few listens and you’ve already had your head caved in by several 10min+ stretches of music and loads of quirky instrumental asides, BUT when heard just after the 2 instrumentals before it and nothing else I think it sounds incredible and pretty easy on the ears (relatively). Of course if it’s simply not your bag then that’s perfectly understandable too haha

Really loving this, have taken to listening to it in chunks on morning walks. "Antigone II" current fave.

That said, HAQQ & "GOD OF LOVE" remain the best Liturgy album/song, respectively. Maybe that will change with more listens.
