well staying true to your sound can be good(see motorhead) but not developing can be a downside...atleast thats the reason i don't listen alot to slayer.

SLAYER rules by amazing guitars riffs technical & speed

Metallica and Megadeth tried to make Thrash more thought-provoking with a bit more in-depth lyrics and stirring riffs. Anthrax was, and still is, hard for me to take seriously.
But Slayer made thrash into the a*s-kicking genre it is. When I listen to Metallica, I hardly get any lifting or adrenaline feel. They feel too calmed down, and less aggressive, and same goes for Megadeth. Slayer pretty much took what thrash was at the time, and perfected it.

I just love Thrash.
I love Slayer because of how fast and adrenaline filled their songs are. I Love Metallica because they are technical, yet you can really thrash to their stuff (older stuff obviously.) And Anthrax because they have really catchy songs and are pretty musically talented. As for Megadeth, sometimes they are quite boring, but I still love them. Exodus and Testament are really awesome as well.This Message Edited On 02.24.07

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this but... this album sucks balls. This isn't a thrash classic, this is an attempt to make noise by teenagers who didn't get that they can't make music yet.
But it does sound good now that I've put it on a much higher volume. :D It sounded so tame in my cd player earlier.

I like this, but when listening it in full, it just seems like you're listening to worse versions of Angel of Death/Raining Blood. Maybe it has to grow a bit though.
