that's one of my fav things about Neil's drumwork, that it never feels overbearing, he could be doing the craziest techincal stuff but it's still tasteful and fits within the songs

Oh for sure. Probably the most "normie" example, but the Tom Sawyer drum solo is a fantastic showing of that. Neil gets to show off, but it's all in the context of the main chord progression of the song... so each chord change provides a base for him to mix and match different techniques. I love stuff like that

Just did a ranking of their first 9. Interesting that now they decided to tour again with a substitute drummer. No one can replace Neil, but it'd be nice to see this version live.
