I love Mission, I personally haven't connected a ton with Early Morning Waiting. No Bitterness is starting to grow on me more tho

on first couple listens suddenly this guy sucks. very pathos-inflected. just kinda corny. not quite night and day but certainly morning and evening

What's exactly so bad? Lyrics? I think it continues with his style pretty much to a t. Music? Same. Only major difference I see here is production

SDOS reminds me of AnCo - something like #1 off Strawberry Jam, it gives the first half of the album some depth, strangeness and mystery imo, otherwise pure summer jam vibes might overwhelm

I’m happy bumping this to a 4.0 after the fifth listen, Mission and No Bitterness have gone up a bit, Cross the Sea has a good ending, a bit OPN…which actually sets up the transition to Blessing ok. After All just feels like an intro to me, would never listen to it outside that function, but it’s the perfect intro in a lot of ways

Early Morning Waiting sounds a bit like a Cass McCombs tune - I might rate it lower because I listen to so much stuff like it

just when i get ready to cement roberstona as the paragon of quality and good taste, he comes in and says some boneheaded ish like that. smdh.

i was originally feeling a 3 on this but it's been growing on me. Tracks 5, 6, 7 are a wonderful run

Last two definitely cemented as my top two.

I still dig the ‘voice of God’ effect on SDOS

Sometimes I skip Immunity and Headroom now

Early Morning Waiting is the only one I skip. I enjoy the piano break that happens once or twice but everything else about it is so bland. Headroom Piano I thought was throwaway as well, but on repeated listens it's a vibe.

my skips at the moment are "mission" and "early morning waiting"; i agree that the latter is pretty by-the-books as far as alex g goes

'Also skipping is for the weak 😤'

It's just if I'm running out of time to finish the full album I skip to the last two because. they're. so. damn. good.
