Idk how I missed this finally getting a review. Album has been one of my all time favs for a long time. I won’t bother waxing poetically about the talent here since everyone’s already beaten me to it lol
Any time I spin this I’m still surprised that it’s as good/better than I remember

The part on Seeds where it opens up and then leads to that solo never fails to blow me away, especially when taken in contrast to the chaotic first half. The tension build up and release is masterfully done
This album is special, man. The longer I listen to it the more impressed I am

This is still one of my fav albums ever. Pretty crazy three unknown dudes were able to craft this. I really admire them as musicians who are as dedicated to pushing their boundaries (and this broad genre) to new places
What’s crazy is how long this is yet it’s so easy to just start from the first track and it effortlessly keeps you engaged the entire time
I don’t really get the vibe that they were too focused on blowing up, but I do think they were a bit ahead of their time.

'bout 15 years ahead of their time.

Definitely would have more commercial success and acclaim now, but they made a hell of a mark on a few metal subgenres. Based on the the videos I’ve seen of the dudes talking about their backgrounds and ambitions I bet they’re pretty happy with that
Obv speculating a lot but that’s my read on them. Tbh i don’t know if this sound is sustainable for a long commercially successful career lmao. Two albums seems about right
