I love how this guy keeps using pop and Justin Bieber as comparisons. he's obviously never even heard this band.

disc 2 was pretty disappointing tbh. both remakes suck quite a bit.

the live disc is amazing though

I too remember when Justin Bieber made a progressive metal song.

“My comments keep getting deleted, but I'm being honest and I'm not trying to troll."

That's unfortunate, because your takes are stupid and the fact you're genuine about them makes you look even dumber.

"It is incorrect to think that someone who likes death metal would enjoy something like Dir En Grey"

Imagine liking more than one music genre.

"to be fair what are you expecting from a guy who 5s Origin"

The funniest thing is that this guy 5'd Origin just because he was butthurt about there being albums in the "best Death metal of 2022" list with clean vocals on them, despite the fact that right now, 8 of the 10 highest rated DM albums so far this year are some of the gnarliest DM albums I've heard in quite a while.

IMO it might be the best album they've done yet, really drips with creativity and shows huge leaps from Shinya and Kyo in particular.

There's always a vocal minority of Dir en grey fans that seem personally offended when their sound changes.

I can’t be the only one that thinks solos in this band have declined to shockingly low levels?

@Dr: Apparently the live DVD on this is fantastic; if you say so as well, I need to check it.

@calc

Yeah, I don’t follow the live stuff as much as you and evo, but this was next level compared to anything I’d seen from them. Really great stuff. And you’re right, TIW material translates much better in a live setting.

You've still seen a lot of footage, so that's a big deal. Curious where it would end up in my personal ranking.

“There's always a vocal minority of Dir en grey fans that seem personally offended when their sound changes.”

It hasn’t really changed much here, and the three highest rated of their albums on this site (Uroboros, Dum Spiro Spero and Arche) are all very different from each other so that doesn’t really apply anyway
